Privacy Policy

App "Tap Here" (the "App") — effective October 14, 2026, updated October 18, 2026

1. What the App sends

The App sends the following to our server only when you tap "Show me where to tap":

The screenshot is sent to the Claude API, an AI provided by Anthropic, PBC, to work out where to tap.

2. What we do not keep

We do not store screenshots or what you wrote on our server. Once the AI has answered, they are discarded. Their contents are not written to our logs.

Anthropic handles the data under its privacy policy and API terms. Data sent to the API is not used to train Anthropic's AI models.

A screenshot may show names, phone numbers, conversations and so on. If something you do not want seen is on the screen, please do not send it.

2-2. What stays on your phone

So you can look back later, the App keeps a record of each guide (a resized screenshot, what you wanted to do, the AI's answer, and any notes you wrote) only on your phone. It is not sent to our server or to iCloud.

You can delete records at any time from "Past guides" in the App. Deleting the App deletes all records. If you back up your whole phone, the records may be included in that backup.

3. Counting how often you use the App

To count how many times you can use the App each day, the App signs in anonymously without your name or email address (Firebase Authentication) and records only the number of uses per day (Cloud Firestore).

3-2. Usage statistics

To improve the App, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to count which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped, whether a guide was shown, and how long it took.

Screenshots, what you wrote, your notes and the text of the AI's answers are not sent. Your name and email address are not used. An ID created for each installation of the App (the app instance ID) and a general region estimated from your IP address are used. We do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, the advertising ID on Android) and do not use this data for advertising or tracking.

3-3. Your plan

To check your plan (monthly or yearly), we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.). The anonymous sign-in ID above and your App Store or Google Play purchase history (which plan, when it was bought, and until when it is active) are sent to RevenueCat. Apple or Google handles payment; neither the App nor RevenueCat receives your card number.

Before showing a guide, our server asks RevenueCat about your plan with this ID and records only the expiry date (Cloud Firestore).

4. Preventing misuse

To keep our server from being used by anything other than the App, we use Firebase App Check (Apple's App Attest on iPhone, Google's Play Integrity on Android) to confirm that requests come from the genuine App.

5. Crash reports

To fix crashes, we collect crash information (device model, OS version, where the crash happened, and so on) with Firebase Crashlytics. It does not include screenshots or text you entered.

6. Access to your photos

You choose a screenshot in the photo picker built into iPhone or Android. The App does not read your whole photo library; it only uses the one image you pick.

7. Sharing with third parties

Except as required by law, we do not share the information we collect with third parties beyond what is described above. We do not use it for advertising or tracking.
